Ballantyne was a community envisioned by Smokey Bissell and Johnny Harris in the early 90's, built based on the idea of "Live, Work, Stay, Play". Starting by building around the 2 hubs of the Ballantyne Hotel and Resort, along with the Ballantyne Country Club. It has grown over the years and continues to become one of the city's most popular locations. Ballantyne is tucked along the border of South Carolina and adds to the growth down the 521 corridor.
